3 Important Travel Tips When Visiting Ireland for the First Time

Whether you are traveling by bus, air, train, or if you decide to rent an automobile, one thing is for sure: Europe is a wonderful place for a vacation!

Today, we’ll recommend something a little different for you. Take a break from all the work and stress of daily life and travel to a quiet, beautiful place with abundant views of natural scenery and interesting sights. A place like the ancient country of Ireland.

Below are a few of the important travel tips to note when traveling to Ireland for the first time.

  • Be Ready for Any Weather Conditions

Ireland is well known for unpredictable weather conditions. Prepare yourself for rain, cold, and heat; conversely, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your stay there.

A good idea is to bring along your belongings with the expectation that the weather could be anything, since you may never know what it will look like. This is the easiest way to make sure Ireland’s weather doesn’t make your vacation even a little inconvenient.

  • Different Parts of Ireland Use Different Currencies

This is simply because the country has been split into two different countries. While other parts of Ireland use Euro as their general currency, Northern Ireland uses Pound Sterling.

Despite the difference in currency, you don’t need to worry as you can easily use International bank cards, chips, and pins in any part of Ireland for your transactions.

  • Get Ready to Drive on the “Other” Side of The Road

If you are planning to travel to Ireland from the USA, it is very important to note that you will have to drive on the left side of the road if you are renting a car to move around the country. You should also note that while trying to cross a road, look to your left. There are also many road signs to serve as a pointer, so that’s a plus.

Ireland is a country riddled with so many natural attractions. Our favorite ones are the Giant’s Causeway, the Cliffs of Mohr, and the Ballyferriter. And historical landmarks like the Christ Church, Charles Fort, the Blarney Castle, are all favorites of many a vacationer. We’re sure you’ll love them too!
