South Africa Welcomes Tourists and Travelers Once More

Following the reopening of its borders at the end of 2020, South Africa has moved to relax its day-to-day lockdown restrictions starting February 28.

So this means that travelers who plan to spend summer in Table mountain country and enjoy its wildlife scenery can do so if they meet up with the South African Government’s safety and health measures.

  • Why Choose South Africa

South Africa is a bucket list location because of its perfect blend of modern and retro beauty. From its Jaw-dropping coastline, Kruger National Park, and the grandest game reserve in Africa, there’s so much for you to see and do.

The magnificent man-made forest trees that line Johannesburg to the most thought-Striking museum in Soweto, just outside Johannesburg, will teach you some lessons about the apartheid era. You can not leave South Africa the same person you were prior.

Book a trip to South Africa and get a feel of its buzzy cities and famous wineries. Beaches all over the country have been closed since the lockdown, but they are now open again.

  • Am I Eligible to Go

Beyond the formal visa regulations, you will have to meet the health requirements, follow the strict protocols in place, and be subjected to screening at all entrance points.

Endeavor to complete a screening form not more than 48 hours before arrival to produce on your device at the airport.

Once you have arrived, you are expected to present a negative PCR test taken not more than 72 hours on arrival and signed by the person who took the test.

It would be wise to make several copies in case you need to produce them at different stages. If you cannot provide this result for some reason, you will be required to self-quarantine at your expense.

  • What Can I Expect?

Some of the many protocols put in place to contain and control the virus that you must abide by are

  1. From 11 pm to 4 am, there is a strict curfew, and alcohol must not be sold within those hours. So, bars and restaurants will close an hour earlier to allow customers and staff to get home before curfew.
  2. Hotels and guest houses are only allowed to open with protective measures put in place
  3. Gatherings of a maximum of 100 people indoors and 250 persons outdoors are now allowed.
  4. Endeavor to wear your masks in public transportations and buildings to avoid being fined.
